Ven and Thyko Brahe
On the beatiful island Ven, placed in the Sound, between Scania and Seeland, the world famous astronomer Tycho Brahe lived and worked for 21 years during the 16th century.
He had found the star "Stella Nova" in the constellation Casioppeia and hade gotten worldreputation. The danish king Fredrik II, who ordered the building of Kronborg Castle
gave the island Ven to Tycho Brahe for his research. Here many prominent people visited the castle and the observatory. Among others Jacob IV of Scottland who was married to the daughter of Fredrik II, Anne.
The month of may is the best time for a visit to the island.
